Czech Republic

In its approach to narcotic drugs, the Czech Republic is the second most liberal country in Europe. In 2009 the government implemented a law allowing the possession of small amounts of cannabis or other substances for personal use without the risk of prosecution. The upper limit is set at 10 grams in the case of dried cannabis or at one gram in case of psychotropic substance (THC) itself. The upper limit for hashish is set at five grams.

Production, distribution and possession of the amount exceeding the upper limit remain illegal. Medical cannabis is legal in the Czech Republic since 2013, however, it is practically unavailable even in the first half of 2016.
