The Presence of Cannabinoids in Cannabis Edibles.

Presentation of Boris Baňas on Cannafest Prague 2014. The lecture is in the original version. Brief synopsis can be found in the description below.

Cannabis seeds are used in various dishes and food complements and therefore come under European food safety directives. In this lecture, we will be also discussing these “common” contaminants; however we will focus mainly on the content of cannabinoids (THC and CBD) and relevant legislature in terms of permitted amounts. We will be talking about current activities of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) regarding setting limits on maximum amount of cannabinoids and efforts of the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) to set these limits in a way that would not liquidate young European hemp industry. Finally, we will present our view on a completely new category of “CBD-extract” products and give our opinion on the legality of their sale as products fit for human consumption. The situation is very unclear, however, from our point of view, it is obvious that application of the rule “less than 0.2 % of THC is legal” is pretty erroneous and misleading.

Your are cordially invited to the annual conference at Cannafest, the international trade fair of cannabis and medical herbs that will  take place on November 11-13, 2016 at the Prague Exhibition Holesovice.  The conference presentations will be simultaneously interpreted into  English and Czech.
